The drama script was written by Ticusdiko, a student of English Education at Universitas Negeri Semarang, and performed by his classmates. The purpose of this project is to provide a cultural and educational resource for students and teachers of English as a foreign language (EFL) in Indonesia. The project aims to promote the local culture and folklore of Indonesia, as well as to improve the students' skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in English. The project also demonstrates how to use digital media and technology to create and share original content in English.
The recording of Dialog Drama Rawa Pening Dalam Bahasa Inggris is about 15 minutes long and consists of five scenes. The scenes are as follows:
Scene 1: Baru Klinthing meets Mbok Rondo, an old woman who gives him a magic fish.
Scene 2: Baru Klinthing returns to his village and asks for some rice from the villagers, but they refuse to help him.
Scene 3: Baru Klinthing puts the magic fish in a well and the water level rises.
Scene 4: The villagers realize that the well is overflowing and try to stop it, but they fail.
Scene 5: The village is flooded and becomes Rawa Pening. Baru Klinthing disappears and becomes a star.
