Gameplay

The game would follow the same gameplay mechanics as the previous Yu-Gi-Oh! games for the Nintendo DS and 3DS, such as Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's World Championship 2011: Over the Nexus. The player would be able to create their own custom avatar and deck, and participate in various modes, such as story mode, free duel mode, online mode, and mini-games. The game would also support the use of augmented reality cards, which would allow the player to scan real-life Yu-Gi-Oh! cards and use them in the game.

Story Mode

The story mode would be based on the second season of Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal, which covers the World Duel Carnival Finals arc and the Barian Invasion arc. The player would be able to choose from one of the three main protagonists: Yuma Tsukumo, Kite Tenjo, or Shark. Each protagonist would have their own storyline and duels, as well as interactions with other characters from the anime. The player would also be able to unlock other playable characters, such as Astral, Tori Meadows, Rio Kastle, and Vector.

Free Duel Mode

The free duel mode would allow the player to duel against any character they have unlocked in the story mode, or against their own custom decks. The player would be able to adjust the difficulty level, time limit, ban list, and other settings of each duel. The player would also be able to earn Duel Points (DP) by winning duels, which they could use to buy new cards and items from the in-game shop.

Online Mode

The online mode would enable the player to connect with other players around the world via Wi-Fi or local wireless. The player would be able to challenge other players to friendly or ranked duels, or join tournaments and events. The player would also be able to chat with other players, trade cards and items, and view leaderboards and statistics.

Mini-Games

The game would feature several mini-games that would test the player's skills and knowledge of Yu-Gi-Oh!. Some of these mini-games would include:

  • Puzzle Duel: The player would have to solve a series of puzzles that involve using certain cards or effects to win a duel in a limited number of turns.

  • Card Quiz: The player would have to answer trivia questions about various Yu-Gi-Oh! cards and their effects.

  • Memory Game: The player would have to memorize and match pairs of cards that are shown on the screen.

  • Duel Runner: The player would have to control a Duel Runner (a motorcycle-like vehicle that is used for Turbo Duels) and avoid obstacles while collecting coins and items.

Cards

The game would feature over 5000 cards from the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game, including cards from the latest sets and expansions. The game would also include some exclusive cards that are not available in the real-life card game, such as anime-only cards and original cards created for the game. Some of these exclusive cards would be:

  • ZEXAL Weapon - Ultimate Shield: A monster card that belongs to Yuma's ZEXAL Weapon series. It can equip itself to any Xyz Monster and increase its ATK and DEF by its own Rank times 500.

  • Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon (ZEXAL): A monster card that is an alternate version of Kite's ace monster, Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon. It has an additional effect that allows it to detach one Xyz Material from itself and banish all other cards on the field, then return them during the End Phase and inflict damage to the opponent equal to the total ATK of the returned cards.

  • Shark Drake Veiss: A monster card that is an upgraded version of Shark's ace monster, Number 32: Shark Drake. It can detach one Xyz Material from itself and target one monster that was destroyed by battle this turn, then Special Summon it to the opponent's side of the field with its ATK reduced to 0, and attack it again with double its original ATK.

  • Number C39: Utopia Ray Victory: A monster card that is an upgraded version of Yuma's ace monster, Number C39: Utopia Ray. It can detach one Xyz Material from itself and target one face-up monster the opponent controls, then negate its effects and make its ATK 0, and if it does, this card gains ATK equal to that monster's original ATK.

  • Number 107: Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon: A monster card that belongs to Kite's Galaxy-Eyes series. It can detach one Xyz Material from itself and negate the effects of all other face-up cards on the field until the end of the turn, and if it does, it can attack twice during each Battle Phase this turn.

  • Number C101: Silent Honor DARK: A monster card that belongs to Shark's Number C series. It can detach one Xyz Material from itself and target one Special Summoned monster the opponent controls, then attach it to this card as an Xyz Material. If this card would be destroyed, the player can detach one Xyz Material from this card instead.

Conclusion

Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal World Championship 2012 is a fan-made title for a hypothetical video game based on the Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal anime and manga series. The game would be a sequel to the official Yu-Gi-Oh!
